Her story
Freya started fixing bikes at fourteen in a neighbor's Portland garage and at twenty-five signed the lease on her own workshop under a rail bridge. Two stands, one radio and a wall of wheels hang between rain and the street. Noise taught her first.
She lives by small sounds: a click, a squeal, a creak. She can tell a loose crank from a dry chain with her eyes closed, and she cannot stand a bike that is almost fixed. The rain is her favorite coworker. Almost fixed is broken.
